“DR Detox…The product is causing uncomfortable constipation. I have been taking it since the last week in Dec. I have recd my second shipment. Other than increasing fluids…what else should I do?”

Hi Stephanie,

Designs for Health has a product called magnesium ascorbate that you could take to alleviate the constipation. If fiber typically binds you up then you have some type of inflammatory reactions in your bowel. So do less of the BioClear at night. However in the long run, Neurocleanse will benefit bowel.

Question from Richard O.

“I am an ostomate with an ileostomy. Ileostomates are at risk of diarrhea. I am experiencing diarrhea with this product. Do you have an explanation or solution?”

Hi Richard,

Many people experience diarrhea in the beginning because Neurocleanse dumps toxins through the bile which will in turn dump toxins into the gut.  Try cutting your dose in half until your diarrhea slows down.  If eating a lot of fiber causes you diarrhea, then begin by cutting the BioClear dose in half.

Question from Jennifer H.

“Is it safe to do the cleanse while fasting? We have patients who are doing a 21-day liquid-only fast and want to be sure it’s safe to do both simultaneously. Thank you!”

Hi Jennifer,

Yes it is fine.  Fasting can deplete glutathione so taking Neurocleanse will be of help during that period.

Question from Henry J.

January 13th, 2009 · No Comments

“What is the yearly cost and how many times a year do you detox?”

Hi Henry,

First of all this was designed to be a multivitamin as well as a true cellular detox that raises glutathione.  We typically do a maintenance dose followed by two weeks on the ultra dose and two weeks off of Neurocleanse.  The typical person should alternate between one month on the maintenance dose and the ultra dose phase as described above.

You’re still under a toxic influence daily and thus your glutathione levels will continually be depleted.  This is not meant to be something to come off of but taken daily to maintain gluathione levels for the rest of your life.

The cost per box is $64.99 (without shipping and handling) and one box lasts for an entire month.  You may get Neurocleanse here:

Question from Irene M.

January 13th, 2009 · No Comments

“I have trouble swallowing pills. I tried adding the pills to grapefruit juice. They did not dissolve. Do you have any suggestions? I just started taking them yesterday. I can handle two at a time, but four will not go down.”

Hi Irene,

Try adding the capsules to unsweetened applesauce.  As long as the food you try does not have protein in it, it should be fine.  Another tip is to put the capsules in your mouth and fill it with water.  Bend over and swallow (while you are in the bent over position).

Thank you,

Question from Andrea F.

January 13th, 2009 · No Comments

“I have a patient who has been on the product for abt week - she is having severe menstrual cramps like she had before starting chiropractic care a year ago. Told her probably because remaining toxins Finally being removed. Anything else I need to tell her to alleviate her concerns, pain??”

Hi Andrea,

When you begin detoxing you need to support certain hormones.  Designs for Health has a fantastic product called FemGuard+Balance.  I would put her on 6 capsules per day (2 capsules 30 minutes before each meal).

Thank you,

Dr. Detox

Question from BJ

January 12th, 2009 · No Comments

“I am 51 yrs. old. I have hypothyroid and am taking .075 mg Levothyroxine. I am currently 153 lbs. with a heighth of 5′3″. It seems that no matter what I do, that my weight keeps going up. I try to eat healthy and have tried to be up to date on what not to eat (hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, sodas, little sugar. etc) . I have fat accumulating around my middle. Could you tell me what steps I need to take to lose weight. I don’t want to hear that because I have thyroid problems that I am doomed. I want to grow older with as little medicine as possible. I also have Osteopenia which my doctor wants me to start on Boniva. I told him no. I am not going to end up in old age with 10 or more bottles of medicine to take a day. Any help you can give me would be appreciated. We are on a limited budget.”

Hi BJ,

Begin the healing diet (no grains/no sugar) and Neurocleanse.  I would consider testing for heavy metals using a provocative test.

Thank you,

Dr. Detox

Question from Katie C.

January 10th, 2009 · No Comments

“Should I continue using presciption progesterone cream while on the ultra detox? And, will neurocleanse help decrease my thyroid antibodies that are high and out of range, –because if it strengthens my immune system-isn’t it just going to attack my thyroid harder since it’s an auto immune disorder?”

Hi Katie,

I cannot answer questions as far as medication adjustments.  However I would stay on your physician’s recommended dose while detoxing.  Be aware that when detoxing many people need to have their thyroid medications lowered by their doctor.  If you have thyroid problems, it would be advisable to have your heavy metal levels checked by a oral post provocative challenged test.

Thank you,

Dr. Detox
